About Dr. Joe
Selecting an OB/GYN isn’t just about experience, it’s about having a doctor who truly cares about patients. Penn Q. Joe, MD is one of the original team members of Memphis Obstetrics and Gynecological Association, starting his career with the practice in 1986. He has helped numerous women throughout the greater Memphis/Mid-South area.
After excelling through his undergraduate program at Rhodes College (Southwestern at Memphis) in Tennessee, Dr. Joe was immediately accepted into medical school. He earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. When he finished his internship at the City of Memphis Hospital, Dr. Joe then completed his residency requirements at the University of Tennessee Crump Women’s Hospital.
Not only is Dr. Joe a board-certified OB/GYN, he also holds numerous professional memberships. He is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Memphis OB/GYN Society, and the Tennessee Medical Association, among others. Dr. Joe is a clinical instructor with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center OB/GYN department.
Dr. Joe is affiliated with multiple hospitals. Some of the hospitals he works with include East Memphis Surgery Center, Methodist Germantown Hospital, and Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women. Dr. Joe accepts new patients at our East and Germantown locations.
